This is the trailer for a new film about the USA poster artist community which looks very interesting indeed. I will make a point of getting hold of a copy of this film and maybe organise a little screening if anyone would be interested.

The film’s official website is here

How We Do Screenprints

If you’ve ever wondered how to do screenprinting, who better to explain it to you than the super-eloquent Aesthetic Apparatus crew?

This poster was designed by the brilliant illustration company Am I Collective, for the play “Harmse” at the Klein Karoo Arts National Festival. The very transparent brown first layer was a bit of artistic licence i took to make the poster look yellowed with age and slightly weathered, to give it a Wild West feel that is in keeping with the spirit of the play.

I’ll be posting a couple of great prints i’ve worked on with other artists in the past in order to get some content going on this site. This one may well be my favourite; a 9-colour screenprint designed by Jacqui Stecher, it’s almost unbelievable that we managed to pull this off with the crappy printing table i worked on at the time.
